NHK World’s Direct Talk, a series which interviews leaders, visionaries, artists and entrepreneurs who are changing our world, spoke with London Music Masters Ambassador Sheku Kanneh-Mason about how he started out as a musician, diversity in classical music and his ambassadorial role with LMM.
“Growing up having music lessons felt normal until I was aware that not everyone is able to have that opportunity. And that’s made me want to give as many people as I can that same opportunity.”
“London Music Masters is a wonderful charity and I first saw the work they were doing about two years ago and really wanted to get involved. The work I’ve tried to do is to inspire the teachers and also the young people who are having music lessons. London Music Masters goes into primary schools which is also very key because I think to have a fulfilling experience in music education, it has to start from the beginning.”
