Benjamin Baker announced as Music Masters Ambassador

Music Masters is delighted to announce Benjamin Baker as the latest musician to become an Ambassador for the music education charity.

During his time as a YCAT artist he worked closely with Music Masters on various projects as part of the close and ongoing YCAT & Music Masters partnership, and follows artists Sheku Kanneh-Mason,  Hyeyoon Park, and Daniel Kidane into the ambassadorial role. The role will see Benjamin continue to work with Music Masters on delivering projects as part of its Schools Programme.

To celebrate the announcement, Benjamin has a released a recorded performance of a piece by Lili Boulanger.

Benjamin said “I’ve come to know and love Music Masters for their amazing community of young musicians. Their infectious enthusiasm for music, and appetite to always try something new is continually inspiring.

I look forward to sharing some of my own experiences and explorations with Music Masters’ musicians, and to support the continuing development of Music Masters’ pathway for young musicians. It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to contribute something to their musical journey as a Music Masters Ambassador.”

Dafydd Evans, Senior Learning Manager, said “It has been a pleasure to work with Benjamin Baker over the last few years on various projects – exploring movement and music with our Year 5 students, supporting his delivery of a very special Friday Live! in lockdown, and his support of our Pathways students through masterclass delivery.

“Artists like Benjamin best demonstrate what it means to be a well-rounded musician – his focus on innovation, his community music-making and his enthusiasm for supporting musicians in their early days is incredibly inspiring.

“We are delighted that he will now be supporting Music Masters as an Ambassador and we cannot wait to see what is to come in our partnership together.”
