IM IN: The Inclusive Music Index launches!

We are delighted to launch I’M IN: The Inclusive Music Index!

It is a self-analysis diversity & inclusion (D&I) tool which enables organisations working in and with music to evaluate how, where and why D&I is considered within their strategy, structure, practices and policies and – crucially – to identify where improvement and change is needed.

I’M IN was created to challenge and support organisations to make progress on their own D&I journeys, as part of a community of like-minded organisations committed to making deep and sustained sectoral change. At Music Masters, we strongly believe that young musicians from all backgrounds should inherit a sector that genuinely welcomes, nurtures and appreciates diverse talent at all levels and in all roles.

I’M IN is accessible through two routes.

  • The Independent Route, which is completely free as part of our commitment to drive diversity and inclusion in the arts sector. Signing up for this route provides access to the I’M IN tool, guidance to encourage good conversations around D&I, and resources and links to support you in taking action as a result of using the tool.
  • The Supported Route, which builds support around the tool to help organisations identify where and how to turn their conversations into action. This route is a more structured and tailored experience, requiring commitment of time and focus from participating organisations who in turn benefit from the support of a designated I’M IN Advisor, an experienced D&I professional.
