Karen started learning the violin at the age of 4 and added the Viola in her teens, going on to study at the Royal Northern College of Music followed by the Royal College of Music. Karen has always been passionate about teaching and in her early career gained experience in many different roles including Head of Strings at Caterham, before moving abroad to teach in Abu Dhabi, then with the Menuhin Foundation of Bermuda as well as coaching regularly on the National Children’s Orchestra holiday courses. She has performed with a variety of groups and genres over the years but would have to say that chamber music is, and always has been, her absolute favourite! Karen currently works for the Tri-borough Music Hub and is delighted to have been a part of Music Masters since 2024.
