Anna Lea Gonzalez Duba is 11 years old. She is a cellist and Pathways student at Music Masters, and is currently in Year 7.

She was also given an MDS (Music and Dance Scheme) Award at the Centre for Youth Musicians, and was offered a full music scholarship at Kingsdale Foundation School. In 2022, Anna Lea joined the Junior Department Royal College of Music and achieved distinction grade 5 and distinction grade 6. She is now working on grade 7.

Anna Lea solo performed Marie’s ‘La Cinquantaine’ at Wigmore Hall in 2021, Mozart’s ‘Eine kleine Nachtmusik’ at St Mary-At-Hill (Tomas Gregory’s CYM quartet 2022), Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ (trio) at the Holy Trinity Church 2021 (Royal Albert Hall), Wandsworth Fringe Arts 2021 with Cuban Violinist Omar Puente’s junior orchestra, and performed as part of the ensemble for Dai Fujikura’s premiere of ‘Longing from Afar’ London Sinfonietta’s ReAssemble 2019.

She has played Dance Rustique by William Henry Squire, Song of the Birds Catalan Folksong, Rudolph Matz, Bach, Trowell and Tchaikovsky, and currently plays Romberg’s ‘Allegro Non Troppo: 1st movement from Sonata in E minor’ and Elgar’s ‘Chanson de Matin’. 

A jazz musician sitting in the crowd at the Cuban event said: “Anna Lea has a real performer quality about her and is engaged in a very cool way, when she wasn’t playing she was singing the songs!”
