We are back. Back in our schools, and with our students. Back filling the classrooms and hallways with music, and it feels wonderful.

As schools closed back in April, the teachers of Music Masters put an inspiring online provision in place. Learning Plans were created and sent out to the parents and carers of the young musicians. Combined with online learning through Zoom, we ensured that the children were able to keep playing throughout the lockdown, and at the same time providing them with a familiar face during an uncertain time – when all routines were gone, they still had music.

We have received comments from our teachers on how positive it has been to be back with the children. We have been working with schools on risk assessments and guidelines to ensure our music teaching puts everyone’s safety first. PPE packs were sent out to all of our teachers, with Music Masters facemasks! Briefings were also arranged with the staff of each school. This ensured teachers were clear on how each school would operate at the start of term, and could ask questions alleviating any anxieties.

This year will look different to any of our previous years in schools, and the Music Masters team is focused on embracing the new challenge. Our regular series of events and projects isn’t taking a back seat either. This term alone we will be delivering an exciting new partnership with the British Film Institute and composer Daniel Kidane. We’re exploring ways of bringing internationally-acclaimed artists into the classroom with Young Classical Artists Trust. Our end of term concerts will have a new life online, so parents, families and students can watch them at work, home and from the classroom. 

We will continue to drive our students to higher standards and levels of musicality, whilst still giving them new and exciting experiences to help them find the joy in making music and creating new memories. We look forward to sharing them with you this school year.
