Abbie is one of our lead cello teachers and has been teaching with Music Masters for nine years. Her cello journey began at age seven, with Helen Neilson at CYM. She then studied cello at the Guildhall with Selma Gokcen, and as a young adult went on to train in the Kodály & Suzuki methods. Abbie is also a graduate of the Music Masters Musicians of Change PGCEi course.

Abbie has a varied teaching experience and spent a number of months teaching cello and musicianship at the Kampala Music School in Uganda. She also taught music for another charity during her time there, which was focused on providing free education for children who lived in the slums.

As well as teaching, Abbie works as a freelance cellist, performing at a range of events. She is a member of a number of ensembles including the Nu Civilisation Orchestra and has performed with artists including Alicia Keys, Corinne Bailey Rae, Laura Mvula, and Janet Kay. Abbie is the co-founder of the Zukira Duo – a cello and guitar duo that performs a variety of music including R&B, Soul, Jazz & Afrobeats regularly at a range of events.
