Meet the team
Matt Hickman
Matt first picked up a violin aged 3, and studied the Suzuki Method for many years with Jillian Leddra. Whilst at school, Matt was leader of the Stoneleigh Youth Orchestra for two years, taking them on tours to Italy, Germany and the Czech Republic. He went on to read Maths at Queens’ College, Cambridge. During his time there, he played for three years with CUMS 1, and performed Bloch’s Baal Shem Suite with the orchestra of the St. Margaret’s Society.
He now plays regularly for the Kensington Symphony Orchestra at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Cadogan Hall and St.John’s Smith Square. He also loves playing music by the likes of Danish String Quartet and Nordic Fiddlers Bloc with Music Masters colleagues.
Outside of Music Masters, Matt also works for the Bayswater Suzuki Group, conducting string orchestras, coaching quartets and more.
When not teaching, he also works as a freelance photographer covering food, drink, music, travel and events.
