Reach In
A socially-driven professional development programme for musicians working with school-age children

Reach In is a short course for professional musicians involved with music education for school-age children, in a school setting or in the community. Designed to reframe the idea of 'outreach', this programme encourages participants to first consider how their own musical learning experiences may influence their approach to delivering learning and participation activity, before building deeper understanding of how children from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities can learn and thrive with music. It offers practical skills and techniques for entering a school environment prepared, confident and with a sound knowledge of how to connect with an audience of young people. The programme draws on Music Masters’ extensive, working understanding of how the education and cultural sectors can come together to create maximum impact for young people and communities.
