Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy was last updated on 14 August 2026. It applies to visitors to musicmasters.org.uk in the United Kingdom, and explains what cookies we use, what each one is for, and how to change your mind.

The short version: we set one cookie to remember your choice about cookies, and nothing else runs unless you say yes.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small file sent along with the pages of this website and stored by your browser on your computer, phone or tablet. The information in it may be sent back to our servers, or to the servers of a third party, when you visit again.

A script is a piece of program code used to make the website work properly and interactively. A web beacon (sometimes called a pixel tag) is a small, invisible piece of text or image on a page, used to monitor traffic. Where we use either of these in a way that involves cookies, they are covered by the choices below.

The cookies we use

Strictly necessary

These are needed for the site to work. We set them without asking, because the site cannot function without them and they are not used to track you.

  • mm_consent — 6 months. Remembers whether you accepted or rejected the optional cookies below, so we do not ask you again on every page. Set by us; it holds nothing but your choice and the date you made it.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile — used on our newsletter and contact forms to check that a submission comes from a person rather than a bot. It loads only when you interact with a form, never on an ordinary page view. Cloudflare states that Turnstile is not used for tracking or advertising.

Analytics — off unless you turn it on

These help us see which pages people find useful, so we know what to improve. They do not identify you, and refusing them changes nothing about what you can do on the site.

  • _ga — 2 years. Google Analytics. Distinguishes one visitor from another.
  • _ga_M193NCV0WF — 2 years. Google Analytics. Keeps track of the current visit.

Marketing — off unless you turn it on

These let us show our work to people on other websites, and see whether our appeals reach the right audience. They are set through a Google Tag Manager container, and include advertising cookies from Meta (Facebook) and Google Ads:

  • _fbp — 3 months. Meta. Identifies browsers for advertising purposes.
  • _fbc — 2 years. Meta. Records the advert you arrived from.
  • _gcl_au — 90 days. Google Ads. Measures whether an advert led to something useful.

Video and social content

Some pages carry videos from YouTube or Vimeo. These do not load when the page loads — you see a still image, and the video is only fetched from YouTube or Vimeo when you click play. At that point those companies may set their own cookies, under their own policies. If you do not click, nothing is loaded and nothing is set.

Links to our Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook and TikTok pages are ordinary links. Following one takes you to that company's own website, where its own cookie policy applies.

Changing your mind

You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page. Turning a category off clears the cookie holding your consent and reloads the page, so nothing further is loaded from that category.

You can also delete cookies through your browser, or set it to refuse them. Every browser handles this differently — look for "cookies" in its settings or help. Blocking all cookies may stop parts of this site working, including our forms.

If we add a new purpose for cookies, we will ask you again rather than assume your previous answer still covers it.

Your rights

You have the following rights over your personal data:

  • To know why your personal data is needed, what will happen to it, and how long it will be kept.
  • Right of access: to see the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification: to add to, correct, delete or block your personal data.
  • Right to withdraw consent: where you have given us consent to process your data, to take it back and have the data deleted.
  • Right to transfer your data: to request all your personal data and move it to another controller.
  • Right to object: to object to us processing your data. We will comply unless there are justified grounds not to.
